Company History

Shingle & Gibb Automation traces its roots back to a company formed in 1933 called Old Reliable Supply and Equipment Co. In the latter half of the 20th century the company began adding industrial control products to its line card. In 2011, the name of the company was officially changed to Shingle & Gibb Automation from Shingle & Gibb Company to better reflect the company’s core focus on industrial automation.

As one of the earliest members of the Association of High Technology Distribution (AHTD), Shingle & Gibb Automation has invested almost four decades of resources into not only becoming a “high-tech” distributor itself, but also shaping the entire high-tech distribution marketplace. Over the past 30 years, Shingle & Gibb Automation individuals have served three terms as President of the AHTD. Brian Lepsis, our President and CEO, became AHTD President in the Fall of 2017 with that term expiring in the Fall of 2019. Shingle and Gibb Automation is widely recognized as a leader in the industrial automation field.

In 2013, Shingle & Gibb Automation began a Lean program and currently has two Team Members certified in Lean Principles. Initial application has been to improve internal processes with a goal to apply Lean to solving customer problems.

As a company involved in automation of other company’s machines and processes we strive to investigate and utilize new or improved technologies within our own business.
